Day 6 : Everland
Day 6 in Korea. Everland actually wasn’t on my list of places to visit in Korea. But my friend really wanted to ride the T-Express — the first wooden roller coaster in Asia and the fourth steepest in the world. I’m not a fan of amusement parks and I’m afraid of heights, so obviously, I had no interest in going to Everland. Not to mention, the entrance ticket is super expensive — one-day ticket = 48,000 won, night ticket (after 5 PM) = 40,000 won. Pretty pricey, right? But since my friend promised to pay for my ticket, well… we ended up going anyway. 🎢
Things I considered before adding Everland to my itinerary were: first, we needed to dedicate a full day just for Everland. Considering how expensive the ticket is, we wanted to make sure we could enjoy it to the fullest until nightfall. Second, I checked AccuWeather to make sure the day we planned to visit would be sunny and not rainy — since Everland is an outdoor amusement park. It would be such a waste to travel that far, pay that much, and end up not being able to enjoy the rides because of the rain. Third, I checked for discount coupons on Everland’s official website, www.everland.com. Usually, there’s always some kind of promotion. I happened to get a ticket discount in celebration of Labor Day.

The trip to Everland was quite far, so we made sure to leave early in the morning. From Hongik Station to Giheung Station took about 1 hour and 30 minutes. It turned out that from Giheung Station to Yongin Everland, the train was different—it wasn’t like the usual subway. Instead, we switched to a train similar to the one I took from Gimhae Airport to Sasang Terminal in Busan. And that’s when I realized this train didn’t have a driver—oh no, what if it crashes? #villagervibes
I noticed a little boy and his mother who were also going to Everland. The boy just couldn’t stay still—he was jumping around and laughing nonstop. So excited to go to Everland, huh, little guy? Hehehe...
When we arrived at Yongin Everland Station, I used my usual trick—just follow where the crowd goes. It eventually led us to the free shuttle bus stop to Everland. Wow, there were so many people heading there, including groups of school kids. Wait, why are there so many students? It’s Wednesday! I specifically chose a weekday so it wouldn’t be crowded. Maybe they’re on school break?
When we arrived at Everland, I confidently queued at the regular ticket counter. When it was my turn, I immediately showed the printed Everland discount coupon. Turns out, to get the discount, you have to buy the ticket at a special counter—the group ticket office—which is located a bit farther from the regular ticket booth. After reading the coupon again, I realized the information was actually written there all along.

As soon as we entered Everland, I read an announcement saying that the T-Express ride was closed for the day due to strong winds. My friend immediately teared up—after all, her main reason for coming to Everland was to ride the T-Express. Well, what can we say… maybe it just wasn’t meant to be.

We didn’t try many rides. As we mentioned earlier, Everland was really crowded that day. To get on just one ride, we had to wait in line for about an hour. In fact, for the Double Rock Spin ride, we had to queue for two whole hours.
Human Sky![]() |

After looking around, we were finally drawn to the Human Sky. It’s not an extreme ride, but it still gave me goosebumps somehow. I get nervous when my feet aren’t touching the ground. I didn’t get to take any pictures here—let alone pose for one—I was too focused on holding on for dear life. Oh, and a tip: before getting on this ride, make sure you’ve fully explored the upper or front area. The Human Sky is like a cable car, but once you go down, you can’t ride it back up again. If you want to return, you’ll have to walk—and yes, it’s uphill.
Ye Ye Ye~~I just realized that Everland has a large zoo-like area called Zootopia. Zootopia itself is divided into several sections such as Animal Riding, Dark Forest, Polar Bear House, and more. I immediately got excited because I absolutely love going to zoos. Yay yay yay~~

Jadi kita lihat binatang sambil naik mobil gitu. Awalnya saya perhatikan mobilnya kok aneh, ternyata ini mobil amfibi. Jadi nanti kita lewat darat dan lihat air. Hihihi... Seru kan.
Luckily, we came here right when there was a new attraction called Lost Valley. It’s a safari-style ride where you can see animals while riding in a vehicle. At first, I thought the vehicle looked strange, but it turned out to be an amphibious car! So, it goes both on land and through water. Hehehe... Sounds fun, right?

At first, we didn’t know the vehicle was amphibious — we only realized it when it was about to dive into the water. We even screamed a bit when it splashed in, because the whole car started rocking on the water. Hahaha.

I was quite surprised when the car stopped near the giraffe. Its mouth reached through the front window, and then its head came in through the side window next to me. Luckily, my reflexes were fast — otherwise, my hijab would’ve gotten soaked being nuzzled by the giraffe. Hahaha!
Amazon Express

Now this was one of the rides with a loooong line — we waited for almost two hours! But to be fair, it was a really fun one. We got on something like a boat... well, I’m not sure if it actually counts as a boat. You can see it in the picture above. While waiting, we kept hearing people screaming, which made us even more curious to try it. During the queue, we were cut by a group of elderly people — well, not really their fault, the staff actually let them go first. Maybe they thought it would be too tiring for them to wait that long. But wow… the elderly here still enjoy riding this kind of thing! My grandparents — even my mom — would never get on something like that. Hahaha!

Now I finally understood why people were screaming earlier on this ride. The water current was super strong — it felt like we were rafting, just going along with the flow. And when we hit the walls or rocks, it was even scarier! The worst part was when we were facing backward, having no idea what we were about to bump into next. Even though we were covered with waterproof fabric in front, we still got soaked. No wonder we kept screaming the whole way — our shoes, clothes, and even my hijab got wet! That’s bad news since we didn’t bring any spare clothes.
Lagi-lagi saya terheran, umur segitu kok masih mau ya diajak main beginian. Mereka sempet selfie sama ibu mereka masing-masing. So Sweet banget dah.Oh right, when we got on this ride, we were with a group of pretty young women who went with their mom. Once again, I was amazed — at that age, they still wanted to join in on a ride like this! They even took selfies with their moms. It was so sweet.

Still in the animal area… yay! This time we went to Everland’s safari park, also known as Safari World. The line was insanely long, almost like the one for Amazon Express. As we got closer to the bus, some staff offered to take our picture with the Safari World background. You could take one if you wanted, but we didn’t — saving money, of course :D
For those coming in groups, with a bigger budget, and wanting a more exclusive experience, you can ride in this car. I’m not sure where to rent it, though. You can even feed the tigers — they climb onto the car to eat the meat!
Mystery Mansion
Kita penasaran sama namanya yang serem, tapi nggak kebayang wahananya seperti apa. Akhirnya kita ikutan ngantri aja. Ketika melihat sekeliling, kita baru nyadar kalau yang ngantri kebanyakan anak kecil. Waduh ini wahana apaan ya? Ketika antri, kita disuguhi interior horor lengkap sama vampire dan zombienya.
We were curious because the name sounded scary, but we had no idea what kind of ride it was. So, we decided to line up anyway. Looking around, we noticed that most of the people in line were kids. Uh-oh, what kind of ride is this? While waiting, we were surrounded by spooky interior decorations — complete with vampires and zombies.

Suddenly, my friend nudged me. She said the snack that the kid across from us was eating looked delicious. She added that she wanted to buy it later if we found a mini market. The kid, realizing we were staring at his snack without blinking, suddenly offered it to us. We just shook our heads and said, “Aniya…” meaning no. Honestly, we were curious, but come on—gotta keep our cool. We couldn’t just take a snack from a little kid, right?
Saya pernah bilang nggak sih kalau temen saya ini kepo dan suka tiba-tiba ngajakin ngomong orang asing? Kalau saya malah kebalikannya. Temen saya penasaran sama anak di depan kita. Trus dia nanya pakai bahasa inggris umurnya berapa. Tuh anak cuman gedek-gedek. Sini biar saya atasin. "Myeotsal ieyo?" umurmu berapa? Tuh anak rada mikir gitu terus dia jawab pake bahasa Inggris. Belagu banget tadi ditanyain pake bahasa Inggris nggak ngerti eh sekarang malah jawab pake bahasa Inggris.Have I ever mentioned that my friend is super extrovert and likes to suddenly start talking to strangers? I’m the complete opposite. My friend was curious about the kid in front of us, so she asked in English how old he was. The kid just shook his head. Fine, let me handle this. “Myeotsal ieyo?” — how old are you? The kid paused for a moment, thinking, then answered in English. Wow… earlier he didn’t understand English, but now he’s replying in English. What a show-off!
But honestly, I really don’t understand numbers in Korean. I can only count up to five >.< Before going to Korea, I learned how to say “25” in Korean (seumul dasot), so if someone asked my age, I could answer. But it turned out that when I went to Korea, I was already 26. So when someone asked my age, I still said 25—because I didn’t know how to say 26 in Korean >.<
Kembali ke topik utama. Akhirnya tiba giliran kita. Nah kan pistolnya nganggur 2 tuh akhirnya saya pakai 2 biar cepet nembak musuhnya. Antrinya 2 jaman, naiknya cuma 5 menitan.Back to the main topic. Finally, it was our turn. Turns out, Mystery Mansion is a ride where you sit in a spinning cart and have to shoot monsters when the red target lights up. Each cart can fit four people, but at that time it was just the two of us. Since there were two extra guns, I used both so I could shoot the monsters faster. Waited two hours, but the ride only lasted about five minutes.

Makan Siang / Lunch
Tadi sempet makan churros sih tapi mana kenyang. Udah bingung mau makan apa, akhirnya kita lihat ada restoran burger. Seingat saya nama restorannya Starlite drive-in.
It was already noon, and we hadn’t eaten anything proper since morning. We did have some churros earlier, but of course, that wasn’t enough. We were getting really hungry and didn’t know what to eat, until we spotted a burger restaurant. If I remember correctly, it was called Starlite Drive-In. But when I checked Everland’s map on Google, that name didn’t show up. The one listed was Burger Cafe America. Not sure if they changed the name or if that’s what it’s actually called :D
We ordered shrimp burgers with fries and soda. Each set cost 6,800 won — surprisingly cheap! We honestly expected the food here to be expensive, considering it’s a theme park… but it wasn’t at all. For comparison, yesterday I had grilled chicken with rice in Itaewon for 10,000 won, and a kebab with cola for 7,000 won. So yeah, this was definitely a good deal!
Pertama lihat burger ama kentangnya udah pesimis. Kenyang nggak ya cuma makan segini. Begitu saya buka daging udangnya itu tebel banget. Akhirnya kentang dan colanya malah nggak habis gara-gara kewalahan makan burgernya. Mantap banget, jadi pengen burger udang. At first glance, I was skeptical about the burger and fries — would this tiny portion really make me full? But when I opened it, the shrimp patty was so thick! In the end, I couldn’t even finish the fries and soda because the burger alone was so filling. It was amazing — now I’m craving shrimp burgers again!
Saya mending duduk aja sambil bawain tas dia. Wkwkwkw... akhirnya temen saya naik sendiri.

| Sambil ngantri bolehlah narsis :D |
And this was the ride with the longest queue ever — probably around two and a half hours! Halfway through the line, I got grumpy and refused to ride. I’d rather just sit and watch our bags, haha. So in the end, my friend went on the ride alone.

Racing Coaster
Waktu udah semakin sore, kami memutuskan untuk naik 1 wahana lagi sebelum pulang. Pilihan kami jatuh ke Racing coaster. Nggak seseru T-Express sih, tapi lumayan buat ngobatin kekecewaan temen saya. Kalau yang cemen gini mah saya berani. Kalau T-Express saya nggak berani >.<
As the day grew late, we decided to try one more ride before heading home. We chose the Racing Coaster. It wasn’t as thrilling as the T-Express, but it was good enough to ease my friend’s disappointment. I could handle something this mild — but the T-Express? No way >.<
Nah waktu masuk antrian, tiba-tiba petugasnya nanyain tiket everland kita. Kalau ke Everland hati-hati ya tiketnya disimpanSince the ride was located uphill, we had to queue by climbing the stairs. But before going up, drinks weren’t allowed, so we quickly finished the leftover cola from our burger meal — no wasting allowed! When we got in line, the staff suddenly asked to see our Everland tickets. Luckily, I’d tucked mine into my phone case, but my friend had lost hers. With a pleading face, she told the staff about it. Feeling bad for her, I offered mine — besides, I wasn’t that eager to ride anyway. Maybe out of pity, he eventually let both of us in. So yeah, if you visit Everland, make sure you keep your ticket safe!
Waktu menunjukkan pukul 18.41. Saatnya pulang. Hihihi...Time showed 6:41 p.m. — time to head back. Tomorrow would be our last day in Seoul, which means… shopping time!!! Oh, and we wrapped up today’s adventure with a street snack we’d been eyeing since yesterday. Hehehe…
